I've listened just one track from this album since it hasn't been released yet...the track is called Are Yoy There? and it's absolutely charming, I have no words to describe it, it's just music for sensible souls. I like better the new Anathema than the old one, this band creates musical jewels, absolutely wonderful. A MUST for every doom fan, eventhough it's not much doom anymore...Cheers!

I had great expectations for this album and it didn't dissapointed me. it's THE BEST ANATHEMA ALBUM EVER!! it blows judgement and the silent enigma away. this one is more mature, more ambiental, more experimental. the song that called my attention the most was closer, it's all with robotic voices, but they rock!, they're not like raymond's vocals on musique. then goes the heavy and emotional "pulled under at 2000 meters a second", wich is the heaviest song on the album. then goes "a natural disaster" with female voices. "are you there" is the most ambiental song, that provides you a nice allucination like pink floyd did before.

overall: this is the best anathema album ever, go get it now!!

Anathema's newest album, A Natural Disaster, just released this month, is probably the most complete and balanced album of Anathema since Eternity, to which it resembles in its simplicity and, most important, feeling. Anathema isn't afraid to use virtual sounds in their music, so we will often hear effects on voice, and even electric drums. The guitars are also far simpler, and in some songs I think they only use one guitar - which means we might not see Vinnie with a guitar in his hands in the coming concerts; dark view isn't it? The songs, some of which are quite slow to be played live anyway, tend to carry the listener into the world of dreams, with tracks like Flying, Closer, Harmonium and others. One of the most emotional tracks on the album may be Are you there?, which reminded me of Judgement's One Last Goodbye, to which I have a feeling is somehow bound...

In conclusion, a 9 out of 10 for an album in which Anathema tells us: it seems like you feel.

Its very hard to review such beautifull art... because whatever i will say i can not describe it as a whole, and for sure, wont be complete.. i will do my best though:

This album really gives you a very charming feeling, and "Charming" is the word, since from the first track till the end, you FEEL what is said, word by word.. and when it comes to the song "A Natural Disaster" which is the best track for me in this album, i just cant describe my feelings on it.. i feel it so much that i feel i will cry.. the female vocals used on it, was done Perfectly, she felt every single word she spelled, all i can do is to bow my head to those wonderfull "Senstive" artists who made this marvellous cd to come to life... i give it a 10 out of 10 and i recommend it for all people who taste real art., no matter what genre.

Why does Antathema make crappy songs in every album???!!!
This album was almost perfect excluding Harmonium
That song is just NOTHING!Flying, are you there, balance, a natural disaster are SO AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGG, but Pulled Under and Violence are with no doubt the highlights of this album and also the Anathema's BEST SUCCESSEFUL career.

I think, this album is very boring, more than the last ones, but I like them, about this Natural Disaster, I donŽt have patience to listen all album, have more (and many) electrical synth effects ,not the type I like, without "feelings", just boring and sleepless.

This album is just about perfect, Are You There might be the most amazing song i've ever heard... strict metalheads may not like this too much, it is very radiohead-ish, but it's worth a shot. everyone should hear it once.

charming...the only word which is coming to my mind when I listen to this album....and I find no words to describe it!
can you hold your tears when you listen to "are you There?"
it feel like that every song touch the deeper side of
your soul...and leave you in world of dreams...
these 2 last albums,i mean "A fine Day to exit"and
"natural Disaster"are very very sensitive and also
remind very personal emotions that every one can't
undrestand it..I believe just a sensitive soul could
feel these 2 albums...I give 10 to this one and
highly recommended to very sensitive soul..

It is quite a crappy album. What in the world has happened to these guys? They should be making sound themes for coca-cola commercials instead of releasing such a poor album. With the exception of 2 min of violence, pulled under at 2000m/sec, a natural disaster the entire album would rather be prefered by my grandma along with god knows what soap opera. (damn "closer" is their worst song ever") HAIL DARREN!!!

This Album is just as good if not better than "judgement" and "A fine day to exit." For fans of Anathema or anyone who isn't a typical purest obsessed with the norm - Purchase "A natural disaster"

It is not a bad album but it is far away from judgement or Alternative 4 (the best albums). The Anathema atmosphere is not totaly lost. But the way they took since Alternative 4 is not driving us to a good end; the next? IŽll be expecting something diferent.

This was ironically the fist Anathema album that I've ever heard. But I must say that I'm very impressed. Can't call it metal but it still sounds pretty damn good to say the least. In fact Of all the Anathema albums I've heard so far this one is the best. If you like Radiohead and post brave Murder Day Katatonia. This is just an album for you.

9/10

Now I want to suggest you something just put the Anathema's latest masterpiece into your cd player. Just listen. This Cd is not suitable when you are doin' some kind of activity eating, working, HW, . . . etc. etc.
you should pay attention to the effects, lyrics, compositions, vincent's great voice, Danny's magical guitar style and relax.
one of the most important moment in you life

This album is very difficult to understand, many people may think that is not methal anymore, but I really think that this is a real sample of the complete evolution of the methal and the all of the progresion of the any kind of methal. The music is very sofisticated, lyrics are deeper, so the combination of both make this album something that anyone expected

For me this was the 1st Anathema album i've ever heard, and it almost immediately became one of my favourite album. I find it very...romantic? It's very personal and full of emotions.
Despite of this i don't necesseary think it's a good album.
The most of the songs are built on the same scheme: some slow ambient beginning, then around the 2/3 part incorporating heavier elements (giutar solo). And yes, Violence after the 5th min is kinda boring.

If you can get into the mood of the album (it won't be hard), you'll love it. If some-one told you this is prog-metal and you are looking for something new and original, look elsewhere. (my recommendation Pain of Salvation)
