oh my god, i'm so sad... Crematory was one of my favorite band ! why do they change their gothic metal style to stupid electronical metal ? when i heard "open your eyes", i thought i was listening to some slow techno bullshit !!

Crematory is definitly dead, they had better to stay split up !

This new Crematory album was very expected, not only because this is the return album
since they've disbanded, but also because this album directly follows one the
ultimate masterpieces of goth/atsmospheric metal, that "Believe" album is.

What to say about "Revolution"? Well, first what I can say is "no worry, this album is really
a good Crematory album". Gorgeous intro, a bunch of strong songs such as "Angel of Fate",
"Open your eyes","Tick Tack"," Revolution" and all the specific Crematory know-how.

All the elements that make Crematory famous in the recent years are there:
Heavy powerful riffs, melancolic melodies, mystic atmospheres, electro touch, the dynamic contrast
between Felix powerful grunting cold voice and Matthias clean warm voice. Yes, everything is there.

Of course, if you're first a fan of the dark romantism of the Lötte period, and haven't been satisfied
very much with their specific artistic direction since "Act Seven", then, you'll not be particulary
enthousiastic with that new album for its aesthetic is in the strict continuation/ evolution of what
has been develloped for the last two albums. Nevertheless the dark song "Angel of fate" is quite
close to what they used to play in the early years.

However let's notice that the electro/new age influence which has got more and more present
since A7 is here put more foward again in this album. So obviously this album doesn't aims at
all the close minded and conservatist defenders of a strict traditional approach of metal where
introduction of "extra-metal" elements such as electro, is regarded as an heresy.
- notice I'm not saying here I have something against traditional metal though. On the contrary-

On the other hand, people who consider that Crematory has reached their artistic maturity
since Act seven -with their electro/new age influences and all their subtle elaborate
arrangements for keyboards and guitar notably- should be quite glad of this
new album.

Matt definitely brought a new breath to Crematory when he joined the band a couple of years ago.

As a conclusion what I can say is "Revolution" is a really good album, featuring all the maturity
the band gained throughout their history.
However I can't say this album is better than "Believe" or "Act 7". I would rate it 8.5/10. wheras
I rate 10/10 for believe and 9.5/10 for Act 7.

In any case, I have a special admiration for the musical sensivity of Katrin
with her deep melancolic melodies and atmospheres. The contrast she creates with the brutal
and powerful side of the band, is really unique and wonderful. Crematory totally deserves
their reputation of leader of the german gothic scene. Man, they just rule.

An amazing comeback album! One of their best infact if not THE best! I'm suprised Crematory aren't more popular with their nice heavy but catchy songs. In past albums there has been some "Fillers" (as much as I hate saying that) but with this album it's one modern day classic after another. I love this band! :) First class good quality Death/Goth metal.

This might be the worst come back of any band, ever. I respected their choice to break up after Believer, which was far better than this album. but comming back is really a hard dicision, since you are required to come with something which is groundbreaking, not an average "download-only-then-delete" type of album. I mean, come on, this is not Crematory anymore, it feels like they are trying to be Crematory again, which was once, on top of Gothic bands.

This album contains 12 tracks, averaging ~4mins each. which is way too short. also the content is truly amateur at best. mixing quality is not at its best, which is shocking, since its a Nuclear Blast production afterall. The tracks are lost in translation, lyrics are so irrelevant, music is way worse, some drum beats, mixed with weird guitars and ALOT of electronic music. this album should be something like a demo , vocal quality of Felix is ok , he still sounds the same, but the clear vocal sounds so misplaced, maybe its not his fault, because of where he sings doesnt mean anything to me. I was excited to hear this come back album. since i truly missed them, but after listining to this, i guess Crematory was better...dead.

Good album, but not have the quality of previos albums. There are some songs that I found a bit boring. I think they needed to continue disbanded, and leave the fans happy with their career.
