In my opinion this is the best Cultus Sanguine album. All songs are pretty strong until you wind down to the last few songs. Id have to say "we have no mother" is the best song on the album. If you wanted to buy a cd from this band this is the one to buy.

Well, what can I say? I love this band's work (To my knowlege they've split up now).
Some of the most depressing stuff I've ever heard has to have came from these, the vocals are to an aquired taste but I think the sorrow conveyed in the vocals just adds to the misery that the band are trying to put across, Shadows Blood being the first work I heard by these really hit a nerve with me with it's dark gothic atmosphere and the sometimes Black Metal esq vocals (dropped in the later releases) ads even more woeful anger to it all plunging the listner into a world of anguish where nothing will break your fall Whah ha ha haaaa! (Evil Laugh) :)

This release is the better album of Cultus Sanguine, very good music with black/clean vocals, the mix is very interessting and I warn you if you listen to it: don't commit suicide after hearing this masterpiece of doom/dark metal because this album has a real soul and atmosphere that don't let you indifferent.

This album is so sad and depressing. I love it. The melody and the vocals are very strong. The best track is 'The Calling Illusions'...This is the best Cultus Sanguine release.
