very very good release. the first song (Todestrieb) is great. the athmosphere it gives is heavy... you feel like killing your self after listening to it. it's almost mid-tempo.

its depressing black metal, which has nothing on it which sounds positive... everything is negative. the vocals are awesome (better than on the new release).
you just have to listen to the whole cd and read the lyrics...
the 3. song(daylight obsession) is faster than the other songs. on the 4. song you can lean back, close your eyes... very good acoustic guitar playing... it sounds very depressive too. the last song is very doom-sounding, but great too.
there is nothing bad on this release.

this release is a MUST-HAVE!

"Springtime Depression" is the second album of Forgotten Tomb, an Italian bant which defines its music "depressive and manipulating dark metal". There are lots of depressive black metal influences, but filtered in a very personal way. Recorded at the Abyss Studios, this cd has a great sound even if it does not lost anything in terms of negativity and sickness. Slow-tempos prevails in this music, but there are also fast songs ("Dalight Obsession"). All the cd (its lenght: 46:29) is permeated with a terrible sense of sickness and real darkness, being very far from all those "eeeeeeeeeevil" nowaday's black metal bands and creating an unpleasant abd disturbing music, reinforced by very negative lyrics which will bring the listener "into the darkest pits of paranoia" (as Herr Morbid, Forgotten Tomb's leader, said in an interview).
This is one of the masterpieces of the Italian Black Metal scene (which is very worth to be discovered... just to name few: Tronus Abyss, Spite Extreme Wing, Aborym, Opera IX). I'd give this cd 94 out of 100.
