This is my most favorite Katatonia album. When I listened to this album for the first few times, it didn't really impressed me. However, when I listened it at the fifth time, the sadness and loneliness of this album touch my heart thoroughly, the instrumental track is TERRIFIC !!! Deadhouse, Relention, Coldways, Saw You Drown, Gone, Last Resort.......all kick your fuckin a$$ !!!!!!

Actually I have nothing to praise about this album, it really moved me than any other experiences I had before. Depressive, low, sad. So just listen it.

This is properly my favorite Katatonia album. It has the greatest most hones vibe I’ve ever heard on any album. The lead singer has a fantastic voice for this kind of music. You can't help not to relate just a little bit to the songs. I don't mean all the way in a depressive way but just a little bit with some of the lyrics.
Fantastic album. Katatonia has one of the best changes of style in metal history.

The music is about as simple as it gets. The "Riffs" are simple linear chords back and forth and the songs are structured in a rock-like verse-chrous-verse system. The drums play simple 4/4 beats for most of the time, And the lyrics are rather simple.
These all might sound like negative things...But surprisingly in case of this album they all help create one of the most beautiful goth/doommetal albums you have ever heard. The emotions are all so honest and out there that it is hard to not drown into the beautiful melodies. The vocals can be best described as "numb". They really send chills down your spine. Every song is fantastic. It might sound all linear at first but if u listen a few more times, every song shows its own unique feature while the whole album still manages to stay together as a coherent unit.

Bottom Line: Just one of the few 10/10 albums that this band has given us.
