I really like the songs on this album, but the production sucks. It sounds like it is recorded in a aqarium. (how do write that?). Well, it sounds like recorded under water.

Good album but the vocals are almost unlistenable except for on Opus Nocturne itself. They are mixed much too quietly. For this reason I prefer Those of The Unlight from this Marduk era. Heaven Shall Burn is still my favourite though. Opus Nocturne - 7.5 out of 10

marduk sucks from this album to la grande!!! and remember: marduk is death metal, no black.

FUCK!!! Marduk is pure evilness!! Opus Nocturne kicks ass and Sulphur Souls is one the best fast, freezing, morbid songs I ever heard!!

The most striking songs ever written...With Joakim on vocals, the dark warriors of northern lands show the capability of mind to reach the impossiblity...`Materialized in Stone` is the key of gate of darkness and will always be...`Opus Nocturne` reveals the path of blackest love with such painful vocals and sound that the soul of this sacred art can not help trembling...`The sun has failed` brings the soul to the realm of ancient hatred;so fast,so obscure,so proud...
Fredrik comes to the scene with this album and writes his name to the history of black art...There is no one to reflect the emotions of darkest dreams as Fredrik Andersson...Drums of divine hatred...(He left the scene at the height of his success...)I want nobody to listen this album...Noone can reach the crimson woods where the meaning of this masterpiece is inscribed...Nothing can reach its cold embracing atmosphere...Therefore,keep away...
As it is stated `Opus Nocturne is a hymn to the night and its beings`...

A very fast, grim and brutal album. The last album with Joakim av Grave on vocals and the first album with one of the greatest drummers of all time (Fredrik Andersson) on drums.
