The best Morbid Angel album and one of the best brutal death metal albums ever
Music is fast and destructive - it leaves bleeding wounds on the psychics of victims who listen to this piece of chaotic art
The sick aura makes me shiver when I listen to this uneasy and fearful album
Really MORBID!

Yeah, a classic indeed. One of the best black/death albums ever. David's voice is pretty cool on this one. Too bad he turned into some kind of marylin manson bullshit. Just follow this link and you'll see what i mean http://www.genitorturers.com/sincitypromo/evildimages.html

Morbid Angel-Altars of Madness---Deicide-First album and Obituary-Slowly we Rot albums are cult.but this my idea =Guitar solos of these 2 bands=Morbid Angel and Deicide are rip off and copy of Slayer(Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King)..Slayer always Number 1 and GODS! :)

Oh yes. This is epic. As far as I'm concerned MA never surpassed or even equalled this album that keeps banging into your ears and mind relentlessly. Few weak spots and epic production with lots of reverb on the vocals, which works out well.

This album seems a little bit more thrash to me. Vincent's vocals are kind of annoying on here as well, and all of the songs sound the same. It's still worth getting, especially if you are a morbid angel collector, Blasphemy, Chapel of Ghouls, Damnation are the ones that stand out for me.
70/100

MORBID ANGEL
Altars of Madness: Death Metal

Morbid Angel has and will always be top of the food chain when it comes to death metal. And this is were it all started. Raging guitars, hammering drums, and very smooth production. This album has a very old school sound to it and shouldn't be overlooked by any fans of Morbid Angel or Death Metal in general.

9/10

Some says that this is the best Morbid Angel album and they are almost right !! I really like it but I think that Covenant is better. But it doesn't make Altar of Madness a boring album for sure. Back in those days this were the most extreme album ever made !! The songs are loud, fast and really really dark. I really like old school death in the early days and this one doesn't disappointed me. A must buy album for sure !!!

Hail Morbid Angel !!

I ran the lights for these guys in Fort Worth at a place called Joe's Garage on this tour. Altar's of Madness is the best Morbid Angel album to date. Without the vocals of David Vincent, it just does't sound like Morbid Angel anymore. If you like Black/Death metal that has a very fast beat with "some" slow crunching every now and then, you've got to get this album. I recommend it to everyone!
