i think this is napalm death's best album. It's bad that they started to make death metal instead of being the god's of grindcore... but maybe it was the right thing to do. Slayer didn't do a "Reign in Blood II" so why should ND do?
But this is a fuckin' great album! 4.5/5 the half- is for the electric drum's, that i don't like.

After the unusual yet fitting intro, ND unleashes the brutally destructive whirlwind fucking beast they have created and it OBLITERATES everyfuckingthing in its path.
THe blastbeats are meant to kill and the guitar riffs literally grind your fucking brain to a pulp of shit. The vox are mostly brilliant low gutturals backed up by an occasional high bitch hateful scream.
The rereleased version features THe Curse EP as bonus tracks and the last track, THE CURSE, is nothing more than the instrumental version of the first track, and ends the album in a fitting fashion that reeks of depression and rage.
The Pinnacle and prototype of all grindcore musick before and to come, this is a must-fucking-hear.

This is my pick for the greatest grindcore album(followed closely by Terrorizer's World downfall. The production ain't the best but this was Napalm at their grinding best. The riffs are killler and Lee Dorian's vocals can never be replaced. Also Bill Steers guitar sound had a lot to do with Napalm's sound at the time as well. For sheer intensity, lunacy and aggression get this.Pure unbridled velocity.I love this fuckin shit.

The first Napalm Death album I heard. It's kick-ass grindcore, for beginners it might even go a bit heavy. Great riffs in "Lucid Fairytale" and the tytle track (probably their best track ever).

...just for the simple info I forgot to write down - Lee Dorian sings in just the first half of the album when replaced by Greenway. So we have two vocals on one CD...
