napalm deaths scum introduced the world to grind core
mabey its one of the shityest sounding records ever made
but the lyrics let you know that its intulectualy chalenging the system its sounds fiffty percent punk
and fiffty percent metal but its grind core brakeneck drumming for 1987 besides slayer and death the guitar is
trashy for the fist 12 tracks due to the diffrent musicans
probably drag net is the grindest it gets but the message
in it is important mabey more than the music its self
on this 28 track 33 minuet debut

This is the LP that changed metal in my opinion. No band had ever done such a record before this. This LP deserves a 9/10 review for it's uncomprimising devastating brutality. Another first is also the screaming vocals. Maybe only Extreme Noise Terror had done shit like that before. Some of the greatest N.D. classics are on this record such as Life?, The Kill, Scum, Success, Instinct Of Survival and Siege Of Power.
On side on the line up is Mick/Nik/Justin and on side 2, the more grinding side, it is only Mick remaining along with Bill/Jim and Lee. I guess this move was quite radical as no original members were left out of this. Maybe they should have changed the name, but anyways this is it.
Total chaos could finely describe the songs on side two. Short bursts of speed and out of control wipe-out vocals! In other words it is simply brilliant!

brutality's the least we're dealing with here. This album changed the whole music scene to a whole new direction. The birth of grindcore was the creation of a movement that later on spread into nearly all music directions ending up with pop or rock-cock alienation haha. I have the only licensed ND shirt here in Bulgaria and it has a large print of the SCUM cover on it. Yes, such a strong anti-McDonald's, Coca-Cola, etc. campaign is what I'm in support of and ND was one of the bands that pointed me to the steps of veganism (not like they are such, but anyway). Noone's ever had such a hard way of dealing with such problems before. And this is the hardest music

Napalm death are the MASTERS of grindcore, a lot of bands may come close to them, but nobody hits the pure grind level like they do.

The first few tracks are a fast collection of songs that almost seemed thrown together (except Scum and Seige Of Power)... To tell the truth, teens in their 14's could put together an album like this... but I suppose nobody could do it better then Napalm Death.

Off key drumming and random guitar, is what you'll expect, and it better be what you expect, because many people may find Grindcore hard to listen to. But , if your expecting this grindcore, you'll fucking love it, very good work.

Nothing could be as catchy as C.S. (Conservative Shithead), best drumming on the album.

Favs are Life?, Success?, Scum, Deceiver and The Kill.

9/10
