The debut full length album by Old Man's Child is really something special. All Old Man's Childs albums until, and including, Ill-Natured Spiritual Invasion is a push in the right direction for black metal. I think this is almost even the best of them. It is lots of variation on both the vocals and melodies. This is a "must own".

First, off not a big, death metal fan. I have only recently come into the extreme metal genre, but some of my favorites are entombed, samael, immolation, the haunted and dimmu borgir. I was recommended this band by a person I traded live bootlegs with. While I don't much about this scene, I do know what good music is. When I first heard this I was rather uninterested. After allowing myself to revisit over time and a few listenings, I began to understand why this is worthwhile. The production is a little to mono, but looking a side from that the songs are intriguing and mesmerizing in a few instances. The songs are haunting, complex, and most importantly, make me want to delve into the cd further than most other bands. My favorites are Kingdom of the dark ages and my personal fav, the old man's dream. The most important part for me I guess, is that there is something about this cd that makes these guys stand out from the throes of death metal.

another fabulous release! this is not like their debut ep though, as if grusom (galder) hardly screams like hell on the debut ep. production isn't that great, but that's what makes them good! the best thing i like about this album is that its pretty much medieval in a way. times like goblins, demons, castles, etc etc etc ya know? still a good release! i give it 9/10
