Essential Greek thrash. This sounds a lot like newer varathron only faster and less leads. Rotting Christ has a structuring gift where they can play an opening riff for 2 and a half minutes and the transitions on the drums make it sound like a third of a song. If you like blackened thrash and don't sit upright like a fag while listening to it, you will find this incredibly hypnotic and musically *tight*. Greeks have always been on top of metal as far as throwing in a unique flavor-this is no exception. I listen to this album when I realize nothing good is happening in metal. If you like this-be sure to check out the other Unisound shit from that period-if you can find it-most of it is out of print. Namely-THOU ART LORD's "Eosforos" which has members of Rotting Christ, Necromantia, and more. that record is a little more esoteric musically-killer bass riffs.

Non serviam is the first album in which rotting christ began to play more melodic and atmospheric. It isnt as raw as mighty contract but still creates dark atmosphere. The vocals are far more better that the ones on mighty contract. The sound production is quite poor, but this album has really great music value so if u are into atmospheric black metal go get it...

"A masterpiece that catapults metal to the pantheon of excellence". This is written on a label on the vinyl's cover and it couldn't be more right. Rotting Christ's best moment, the record that changed the face of black metal forever, altering the raw, fast and brutal Norwegian black metal sound to melodic, slower but equally brutal Greek black metal sound. What can I first mention here? The atmosphere? The riffs, the melodies, the keyboards from Magus Vampire Daoloth? Every single song is a killer on this album and it reeks of pure power and energy. Unfortunatelly poor distribution by Unisound made this record hard-to-find (especially abroad Greece) delaying Rotting Christ's world wide recognition. A must for every blackster who respects him/herself.
