A pummeling return to reality. This is Thy Serpents finest hour. They seem to have lost a bit with their second release, Lords of Twilight, which was going to the mainstream side, but recaptured their hellish style on this release, Christcrusher. All of the elements from the debut, Forests of Witchery, are back in spades on this album. I still don't know if Azhemin is male or female? Only missing ingredient on this album is Luopio, synth and bass, But Agathon more than makes up for his absence. Sami still appears on the guitars, and the band has become a threesome. This guy Agathon, I don't know personally, but has become to me, quite a musician. He has been around for some years with different Finnish bands, playing synths, drums and vox, most notably, Gloomy Grim, Soulgrind, of which he is leader, and Walhalla, and his contributions to metal as a whole are quite astounding. This is a great sounding album, very groovy black metal. Don't hesitate, buy it!

Melodic Black Metal..not for fast and pure black metal fans.

This is a very very very good album and is better than forest of witchery. The best songs are Chambers of the starwatcher, Curtain of trachery, So free are the wolves and Christchrusher. It is true, fast black metal, melodic, progresive... fuck off Beyto!!!!!! If you like other good bands like Emperor, Dimmu Borgir you must have this album now.
