From the same neiborhood as Gloomy Grim and Soulgrind comes the Finns known as Thy Serpent. The names and players may be different, with the exception of mutiinstrumentalist, Agathon Frosteus, but the music is the same. Antichristian Pagan Horror metal or raging black if you like. I am also a BIG fan of Thy Serpent having three of the four albums they made. For this show, we have Agathon and Azhemin and newcomers Luopio on synths and Sami, guitars. Forests of Witchery is their debut album and was a big smash to these ears. No femme vox here, my friends, although I am unsure of whether Azhemin is male or female. Could someone clarify for me? At times, from the pictures I've seen, I would swear female, but that voice says male to me. Anyway, the music is great. If your becomming a fan, start here, and get Christcrusher next.

I think there is only males in THY SERPENT. And YES, this is a really really great album indeed. But, it is more great songs on this album, than on the christcrusher album. Christcrusher only have 3 great songs on it, but this album really kicks ass!!

This cd is very good, if you like melodic blackmetal with synths, this cd is for you. It reminds me of old dimmu borgir {stormblast}. get it you wont regret it ;)

I heard only this album, but I can say this music is admirable. Very pleasant vocal and cold North atmosphere.

Forests Of witchery is definitely the best of Thy Serpent. I liked all the songs and I enjoyed the darkness feel of the record.
