This album is so hard to describe as anything but brilliant. It is, in some aspects, new musical territory for Type O, but in each track rings a familiar tone or riff that makes it unmistakably Type O. I happen to love the more upbeat style of songs like "I Don't Wanna Be Me", and always enjoy the heartfelt way that Peter can belt out a tune such as "Nettie". I think most Type O fans will be wowed (much as I was) with the way that the band has grown and changed with this album. It's brilliant.

Once again Type O Negative prove themselves as being one of the most unique and insanely beautiful bands out there. With 15 tracks, many of the songs have been brought down to a normal length for a song. However, there are a few that fall within the 8-minute range. The guitar work is top notch, still keeping the catchy melodies intact. Musically overall, it highly resembles the work on October Rust, which in my opinion, is a great thing. It definately excceds their last CD, World Coming Down. Dare I say that on this new release, some of the songs contain pop elements when it comes to the catchy choruses and keyboard work. They still keep this album dark and moody. Real gems include: I Don't Wanna Be Me, Anasthesia, Electrocute, and Angry Itch. Not really too many complaints can be made about this release! But, for those of you out there who didn't like October Rust or Type O's work in general, don't waste your time, there's nothing really new here. 9 of 10

Hell! Well, only one of the best bands on the globe! Pretencious? I think not.
These guys have cleverly made some expert doom and interwoven some humour (the humour doing away with the pretenciousness that people label them with) and with Life is Killing Me Type O have shown their going from strength to strength. I can't relly think of a "filler" on there! even with the bonus disk.
Then again I love all of Type O's work. 1st class stuff!!!! :)

This one is in the whole thing better than "World coming down". But I miss the absolute hits, the "Mega-Highlights", if you know what I mean.
On each Type O. Negative album are bad songs, good songs and GREAT songs.
On this album are only bad or good songs. I couldn't find a really "Hammersong", which impresses me or gives me the creeps.
Don't misunderstand me: this is a good album, but nothing more.

Nearly perfect. take off 'Less than zero (<0)' and the drone at the end of track 5(?) and it's a 10/10. So close to perfect. My fav tracks are always changing from this album. Very strong middle portion.
