Possibly one of the bleakest albums i have heard. Xasthur is an astounding band, Malefic is an amazing musician, he creats more than music here, he creates feelings and takes the listener on a journey through the recesses of his mind. For me bes tracks are Trauma Will Always Linger and Beauty Is Only Razor Deep. 10/10

I'd have to say that this is my favourite Xasthur release. The instruments are pretty equal in the mix, the production is fuzzy enough to produce a sense of unease but clean enough that it doesn't ruin the sound, the musicianship is astounding, and the vocals are simply haunting. I prefer Malefic's higher screams as opposed to his low ones, I think that it gives it a more chilling atmosphere. I don't really know what I'd call this, probably some sort of ambient black metal, but with more of a leaning towards the ambient side. Certainly not for just anyone, you have to be able to FEEL the music for it to have any real effect. I recommend listening through headphones as opposed to speakers, it really isolates you from the rest of the world and sucks you right into the music. This might sound crazy, but I wish it was longer. Beautiful but haunting. 9.5/10

Subliminal Genocide.. For me the best album xasthur made, a greath suicidal BM album, a greath album for a one man band.. This album is a totaly expresion of the darkest feelings of a soul..
