Much better 2nd LP. Gone is that death metal sound, and here the band toy with a speed/thrash metal hybrid with a few Nordic black metal leanings and interesting vocals. This is a throwback to the late 1980's metal and is very Celtic/Necromicon inspired. Actually some of the battle styled hymns chucked out are truly great and I rate this LP as one of the finest the extreme metal genre had seen in 1994. The vocals are highly original as well- I advise you to check this out! 8/10! | Review by: hammerheart2 Their 2nd album on which ABSU found their own style in the "classic" ABSU line-up (Proscriptor, Shaftiel & Equitant). Extreme metal, based on black metal with a howling sound, incredible speed, furious drumming & voices. Itīs good as hell!!! I can recommend the vinyl-version which is in a beautiful gatefold-cover with the artwork by Kris Verwimp. Review by: Body just celtic black metal, great work of this band, nice studio sound and amazing tracks, every track in this album is good, really good Review by: blot This album is the basically where Absu comes into their own and distinguishes themselves as the leaders of the USBM scene. The mythologically inspired lyrics are genius in their own right and show Proscriptor's Occult knowledge, right in the league of Crowley himself. In comparison to the 2 following albums, this one stands strong in its own right - it has some of Absu's greatest tracks but isn't quite as good as far as the entire album is concerned. Long burn the flame of Absu! Review by: shanewick Combining Thrash with Black metal in a suberb way. For me this is the best Absu record. Epic but also very hard! Also one of the best drawing from Mister Verwimp. Review by: Dennis666
