that new deicide release kick some christian ass!!!!!!!! its fucking great is new like no other deicide album but not changin the stile like still true fucking anti- christ death metal!!!!!!!! | Review by: Sad Spirit DEICIDE – In Torment In Hell (Roadrunner Records) My god, this album is a huge disappointment! The previous record ‘Insineratehymn’ was already pretty boring but this has to be the weakest material Deicide have ever released. What ever happened to the sheer aggression and brutality they were able to expose on albums such as ‘Once Upon The Cross’ and the crushing debut CD? Of course the band is still pretty heavy but the sound is far from great. These songs have been recorded in 4 days and unfortunately it shows. The guitar sound is (again) not really phat (although better than on “Serpents Of The Light” and the live record) and I’m not able to hear any pounding bass drums – a pretty important aspect when listening to a brutal death metal band. I think the drummer has lost some fingers or something because his grinds are just plain awful and not tight enough. These compositions give me the impression Glen Benton and co. are not motivated anymore to create something really groundbreaking. What’s the point in just copying older songs and making them not even half as good??? I’m sane enough to hear that these songs are way slower than the old classics (which was already the case on ‘Insineratehymn’ as well) but at no point they impress me. The sad truth is that Deicide’s best period is clearly over and my advice for them would be to stop making music and slaughter more goats… The Tom Warrior-like shrieks (‘Vengeance Will Be Mine’) are pretty damn funny btw, but sitting through this album was a hard task nonetheless… My marking : 5/10 Lyrics : Just guess what they’re about… Review by: Jense Talk about another letdown.Deicide's latest release is quite possibly their worst release yet.Every song is stale and stagnant and sounds like it has been done a million times before.Where are the searing guitar solos at?I think it's time for Glen and Company to call it quits! Review by: satanspawn I agree that this is the weakest album of Deicide, but it doesn't mean, that it's bad. It is not innovative, but only fool can await some great evolution of Deicide's music. It's brutal, straightforward, bit slower than older releases. The biggest dissapointment is the sound, which realy isn't equivalent to the 6th album of such a legend as Deicide. I hope the successor won't continue in this way. Review by: Racik This album sucks a lot! Worst from them so far, even they said that too. They had to release something to be of the hook from record label. Jesus fucking Christ, two concerts after release of this album and they never not one song from it. That tell's you all doesn't it? Review by: PHOBOS a bit better than insineratehymn, but very poor Review by: o
