clearly one of the best marduk albums, although they are still playing not so sophisticated stuff. the sound is not as good, and legions vocals are not the best, but the music is incredible!! | Review by: theexorcist I have to agree it's a great album, but mr. exorcist legion is not singing on this cd. It is Joakim af Grav or something.... Review by: nve This is one of the better Marduk albums, since this is with the best singer they had (which isn't Legion or Joakim Mr. Exorcist and Mr. NvE - maybe you should buy the CD and not ripping it of the internet?) but Andreas Axelsson!! Some more death/black sounds on it... Not as speedy and boring as some later affords may be! This haven't got a clear production and has a more blackmetal feeling than (for instance Panzer Division Marduk), also the artwork is in the same blackmetal style (the inside of the booklet is empty, just white), just a great kick ass CD. Review by: Flix The Debut was 1992 one of the fastest albums of the rising Black Metal scene and so it was something very special. Songs like "Still fucking dead (here's no peace)", "The sun turns black as night", "The funeral seemed to be endless", or "Holy inquisition" are today not less important as in 1992. A Great and essential album. Review by: warhellhammer marduk they are in black scene for me one of the five betters band in the word Review by: blood Old school black metal. Not as fast as they are now. Very much bass in the sound. A bit short, but catchy riffs, and an evil feeling. 8-10 Review by: euronydead This is in my opinion the best debut by any band and marduks second best album (the first being Those of the Unlight). Its just so agressive, yet so dark at the same time and there are moments in all the songs without any singing, where the guitars establish the atmosphere, which really get my juices flowing. It is nothing like modern marduk, which is a shame because i much prefair it. I would greatly recommend this album to anyone who loves dark atmospheric black metal. Review by: cocktease
