This is a good album, but I think Marduk has changed a little their style. The album is staying brutal and heavy, but is very unusual to hear Marudk in this style, I say this, because in some songs you can hear very slow parts, but is a very good album. I think the song: Jesus Christ...Sodomized is very similiar to their classic: slay the nazarene...or I think is a continue of that song... | I give to this cd: 10 of 10... Buy It or DIE!!! Review by: Shaitanhorde This is the very first Marduk album that I listened to. It's suprisingly different from their past releases. A lot of the album has very melodic parts. The aggression can still be heard on some songs. This opus is pretty good. It's not anywhere good as "Panzer Division Marduk," but it is not a disappointment. Review by: gothchild Marduk - La Grande Danse Macabre The most technical and melodical album Marduk has ever made. "La Grande Danse Macabre" possesses epic and futuristic atmosphere - probably because it's production is different from the others after "Opus Nocturne". It has only shreds of the old material, and Marduk has now created new style which contains slower and more melodic music. It's kind of a depressing feeling, when listening this album. The mood is completely different, music has absorbed influences from rock, and the glamour of hatred, despise and blasphemy is not the most profound idea in this CD. Best songs are "Ars Moriendi", "Azrael", "Bonds of Unholy Matrimony" and the title song "La Grande Danse Macabre". Well-worth bying, still different from the previous material. Rating: 4 out of 5 Review by: Punisher This is not really a bad album. It's well produced, hyperfast drumming, Legion's great voice etc. But in my opinion, Marduk has everything said, with their past releases and "Panzer Division Marduk" as their personel highlight. I fear that now the time has come, when Marduk will repeat themselves. Don't misunderstand me: it's a solid album, but nothing new, it's only another "Opusnocturneglorificationheavenshallburnnightwing-Album", if you know what I mean. Not really essential. (Like each Marduk-Album from now on? I don't hope so.) Review by: warhellhammer what's this? is boring, without hate, not pain, the true essence of marduk died in the panzer division marduk, just the song death sex eyaculation is something good Review by: blot
