IMO This is the best Metallica album. Definately a classic .. If you are a thrash metal head, then you will already own this, but if you don't, GET IT! JUMP IN THE FIRE MOTHER FUCKER! | 10/10 Review by: Doomah this is a very good album!!, and its sad that the other metallica albums were not so good as this one Review by: celtic-frost This cd changed the general scene of heavy metal forever. Before Kill 'Em All (and before Metallica), music pretty much sucked, with a few minor exceptions. Overall, this album differs from the rest of Metallica albums in the way that it seems a lot more like thrash metal. Overall, this album comes with the message that "Metallica comes to town to kick your ass!", and that they always will. Seek & Destroy, the most popular song on the album, at track number 9, is still played in concert a good 20+ years after it was released on Kill 'Em All. For the greater Metallica fans, I can also suggest going out and getting a copy of Metallica's original demo album, No Life 'Till Leather, which had many of these songs on it, recorded straight out of the garage. Overall, I give this album a 9/10. Review by: Deatheaven simply their best work, with a lot of gap... this offers very fast thrash metal, even the younger ones like me can still imagine how groundbreaking this must have been. there are no slower parts, no soft metal interludes for the girls, like on master, and all that followed. only fast neckbreaking metal, with juvenile lyrics, and a fresh attitude. nevertheless, they were even back then skillfull musicians, one can notice this if one listens for example to the drums of "seek and destroy", how ulrich plays abit different after each of the 4 "SEEK AND DESTROYYY"s. the songs have a less "hymnical" character then on the later albums, which makes them less poppy, radio sounding. excellent piece of metal, metallica can join stages with slipknot and other morons as often as they like, or hunt down their fans for downloading music in all eternity, and betray the course of REAL metal as long as they want, but this album breathes the spirit of their early days, and will do so in all eternity.period. Review by: Keller I listened to the first record of Metallica after my acquaintance with “Master of Puppets”, so at first I was pretty stunned at that stuff I could not dig. “Where are good melodies? Where are interesting lyrics?” that’s what I thought. Later, however, I changed my opinion. Well, the album is really a bit crude, young Hetfield and Co.’s rage comes out of every pore, lyrics are mainly “We play metal, and it gives us kicks. And if someone does not like it, well kill ‘em all!” stuff (“Hit the Lights”, “Whiplash”, “Metal Militia”) or about war (“No Remorse”, “Seek & Destroy”), James’ vocals are not too impressing (a bit hoarse, but that’s alright, ‘cause he just needed some time to improve). But even this debut has got flashes of their future glory: high skills, unwillingness to go everybody’s way, ability to make multipart things (“The Four Horsemen”, “Phantom Lord”). I also would like to draw attention to Burton’s instrumental, “(Anesthesia) – Pulling Teeth”. I don’t even know why this thing attracts me: you can imagine yourself in a dentist’s chair so vividly that it seems you’ll soon get your teeth pulled out. In general, that was the worthy beginning for the band of 20-year-old guys who had to do many things hereafter. (Though, to tell the truth, there were more impressive debuts in the history of heavy metal.) Review by: Featus This is the best example of Metallica the thrash band...I can't believe you left Mustain go ... he was the perfect thrash influence in this album, atually he's the one that makes all those great guitar riffs(most of them)...don't believe me? ask the actual main guitar player...hahaha or better...listen to the earliest MEGADETH albums...you'll hear what i'm talking about. after this one...and maybe "Ride the Lightning", metallica change from a thrash metal band to a heavy one, which was not bad until they change again into a GAYtallica band...last good heavy work was the black album, after that there is almost no heavy stuff, it's mainly stuff like "I want to be commercial, so what!" Too bad for those guys...i think they are the ones that should be KILLED....yeah KILLED'em ALL. Review by: franckcho Absolutely love this album; One of Metallica's best! My suggestion: GET IT. You'll be jumping all over the place! Review by: STATLER this is a showing of raw potential. it is not yet refined but there is a huge display of what is to come. Review by: Satyriasis Just like Ride The Lightning, Kill 'Em All is one of their best. Excellent album. Review by: MedievalMetalDictator This CD started it all!! Anyone who listens to any kind of metal should own it!!! 10/10 Review by: masterwojtek The words that come to mind when listenning to this album: Speed Metal masterpiece! Of course many of the songs were written/co-written by Dave mustaine who didn't get to play on this album(btw I'm surprised Megadeth is not on this page since they've actually a superior band to Metallica in many ways), But anways, to the album review: The production is not as good as it gets on the next few albums... But who cares? This album contains some of metallica's sickest riffings and solos. The songs are wild and the lyrics are crazy, at some points they might sound like they lack direction, but then again, the music is so amazing that it overshadows eveything. It's hard to imagine how original and amazing this had sounded at its release time. As a pioneer of Speed Metal this album stands as a classic and essential Metallica. 9/10 Review by: lucifer6 for being there first major album, it kicked major ASS, on certain parts of songs the guitar sounds like a machine gun. anyone who thinks this album sucks can go to hell. GREEN DAY SUCKS:) Review by: BreADfAN god metallica sucks.. the only song that is decent is master of puppets... in one word to discribe metallics, sellouts go invest in some other band Review by: 6metal6head6 You can see how important is te mustaine factor on this CD but it doesn't matter because with cliff burton they just got better!!! Review by: intormentinhell I must say that this album is thought to be greater than what it is because it was out in 1983. It's a masterpiece, no doubt, and you can see Dave mustaine's influence. The sound is seminal and very different from the other four metallica albums (I don't consider album nor music what came after the black album, only pathetic asking for money from four morons alcohol-addicted depressed guys). Usually people say that this one and Slayer's 'Show no mercy'are the first thrash metal albums. 'Kill'em All' is fuckin' shit compared to 'Show no Mercy', but it a great great album any way. R.I.P Metallica.... Review by: o This album is an anthem for the metal music and for the metal funs.Espesially the song whiplash describes exactly what we feel when we hear metal."Adrenaline starts to flow" as the song says and we acting like a maniacs. This album is the most representative album for the metal history and for the life of the metal funs. There are no words that can descibe the feelings that pierce our spine. This is my opinion about this album and for Metallica!!!
