Celtic 'black' metal (I don't really like calling this kind of band black metal but bleh). Raw screams mixed with great guitar riffs, traditional celtic instruments (at least I think so, for their names in the booklet), some choirs, tribal-like drums and an awful drummachine. Yes, an awful drummachine. It sounds like they made it using *.mid files or some really old non-professional keyboard. It is indeed terrible, but oh well nothing is perfect. | The seventh track is a cover of Carl Orff's O fortuna Imperatrix Mundi...it is a really weird track, what doesn't mean it is bad...I just prefer the original or Therion's version. It also features a bonus song, the demo version of Samhain which is played only with guitars (no violin, I mean)...I myself like this one better then the Domgeorn version. If you're into "celtic metal" get it now, even if you're not a big black metal fan. Review by: Daemon As a late listener to Ragnarok UK (finding their albums hard to find and having to make do with the 2 tracks I previously had on tape)I finaly descovered how good they actually are! This is infact a very good multi-layered album with some nice musical arrangements helped on by the use of different, more interesting instruments and I must admit I've heard worse drum machines used by bands before. Check out the bass solo midway through "Passion to a golden dawn" it's superb (Deorth now doing bass duties for The Meads of Asphodel) Above all, it's nice to hear a band with a vision and trying something interesting. Good quality Celtic Metal, give it a go :) Review by: Gavius Folk and Black Metal.Sound like Cradle of Filth. Review by: Beyto
